This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our Platform, which includes our website, likepatrol.com, and our applications, APIs, and other related services that reference or link to this Privacy Policy.

It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not control, even if they are referenced or linked to from our Platform. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access. LikePatrol is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Meta Platforms, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (Twitter), or any other social media platform.

We collect personal and non-personal data for various purposes. The types of information we collect may include:

Account Registration: If you create an account, we collect your name and email address and, if you register with a password, a hashed form of that password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from that provider your name, your email address, and, where you have one, your profile picture. We never receive the password of your Google or Apple account.

Contact Information: If you contact us (e.g., via email or support form), we collect the information you voluntarily provide (name, email, message).

Payment Information: If you purchase a plan, your payment card is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we keep the record of your subscription, its status, and its billing period.

Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Platform, such as pages visited, links clicked, and features used.

Device Information: IP address, operating system, browser type, and unique device identifiers.

Log Data: Server logs that may include your IP address, browser type, access times, and other usage data.

Accounts You Look Up: We keep the public handles you search and, if you follow an account with LikePatrol, the link between your user account and that handle, so that we can show you its report, save its stories, and email you when you have asked us to.

Analyzed Content: Our system reads only publicly available content. For the public handle you provide, we read its public profile (name, profile picture, and follower and following counts), the public list of accounts it follows, and, on Instagram, the public stories that are live at the time. We do not log into any user’s account on any social media platform, we do not collect or store credentials, we do not bypass any login wall, and we do not access private accounts, direct messages, non-public stories, drafts, location history, or any other content that requires authentication.

Copies of Public Media: So that the pages you see do not load content from a third party, we copy the public profile pictures of the accounts in a report, and the public stories of the accounts you view, to our own storage. Saved stories are kept for the period of your plan, as described in Section 8.

Classification of Followed Accounts: To describe what a following list is made of, we compare the accounts in it against a catalogue of public accounts that have been classified by topic using their public posts, captions, profile bios, and links. We do not analyze images of people: we do not perform facial recognition, we do not identify anyone from an image, and we do not infer any characteristic of a person from a photograph.

How We Access Public Data: You provide a public social media handle, and LikePatrol fetches the publicly visible information through third-party data providers. We do not run any script, helper, or software on your device, browser, or social media account. We do not require any installation, export, or upload.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 5.

We use your information for the following purposes:

To Provide and Maintain Our Services: Analyzing social media content using our AI, managing user accounts, and offering customer support.

To Personalize User Experience: Tailoring content, recommendations, and insights to your interests.

To Improve and Develop the Platform: Conducting research, analysis, and testing to enhance features and user experience.

To Communicate with You: Sending service-related emails (for example, account verification) and, if you have switched them on, emails that tell you when an account you follow with LikePatrol has posted new stories or when its following list has changed. You can switch those emails off at any time from the product or from the link in each email.

To Ensure Security and Prevent Fraud: Monitoring for suspicious activity and unauthorized access, and investigating possible violations of our policies.

To Comply with Legal Obligations: Fulfilling legal and regulatory requirements, responding to lawful requests, and upholding the law.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis to process your personal information, we rely on one or more of the following:

Consent: You have given consent for specific purposes.

Contract: Processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering a contract.

Legal Obligation: Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

Legitimate Interests: Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as improving our Platform or preventing fraud, provided it does not override your fundamental rights.

We use cookies that are necessary for the Platform to function: keeping you signed in, remembering your language, and protecting the Platform against automated abuse (for which we use Cloudflare Turnstile). These cookies do not require a banner choice.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use LikePatrol. It sets analytics cookies when you visit. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on, without affecting how the Platform works.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your data in these situations:

Service Providers: Companies that help us operate the Platform and that only access data to perform tasks on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations: DigitalOcean (hosting and file storage), Stripe (payments), Google and Apple (sign-in), Cloudflare (protection against automated abuse), Zoho (email delivery), OpenAI (text classification), and providers of public social media data. The handles you search are sent to our data providers in order to retrieve the public information; your identity is not.

Business Transfers: In a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your data may be transferred. We’ll notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform if such a transfer occurs.

Compliance with Laws: We may disclose data if required by law or in good faith to protect our rights or investigate fraud.

Your personal information may be processed in countries other than where you reside, including the United States and Mexico. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where required by applicable law, we protect your information using appropriate safeguards, such as contractual data-protection commitments with the parties who process it on our behalf.

We retain your personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. When we no longer need your data, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

The temporary copy of a free preview is kept for a few hours so that reloading a page does not read the same public data again. Stories saved for an account you follow are kept for 30 days on the monthly plan and 90 days on the quarterly plan. If your courtesy period or plan ends, what was saved for you is kept for up to 30 days, so that it is still there if you return, and is then deleted.

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no electronic storage or internet transmission method is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data. You can also object to or request the transfer of your data, and where consent is the basis of processing, withdraw consent at any time.

Our Platform may link to external sites or services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here, updating the “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes, we may notify you via email or a prominent notice on our Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

LikePatrol is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Meta Platforms, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (Twitter), or any other social media platform. Any references to those platforms are nominative and descriptive only. The Platform reads only content that the relevant account owner has chosen to make public, and it does not have or claim any special API relationship with those platforms.

Reports generated by the Platform are descriptive analyses for personal awareness, not automated decisions. Any human acting on a report is solely responsible for the decision they make and is the controller of that decision under applicable data-protection law. The Platform must not be used as part of any process that produces legal or similarly significant effects on a person without meaningful human review (for example, decisions about employment, tenancy, credit, insurance, immigration, or child custody). Separately, we do not fine-tune AI models on user data, and we do not allow our model providers to use our prompts or your data to train their models.

If you are the owner of a social media account and you do not want your public profile, your public stories, or your public following list to be shown or saved by LikePatrol, use the form at https://likepatrol.com/en/opt-out or email [email protected] with your handle. We will exclude your account from current and future reports and remove the copies of public content tied to that handle, subject to verification, within a reasonable time. This is in addition to any access, deletion, or correction rights you may have under applicable data-protection law.

The Platform is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 as a user.

The Platform reads public social media accounts, and some of them may belong to minors. We do not knowingly allow an account that belongs to a child under 13 to be followed with LikePatrol. A minor, or the parent or guardian of a minor, may ask us at any time to remove an account from current and future reports and to delete the copies of its public content, as described in the section on Subject Removal Requests.

The Platform is not offered to persons who reside in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and you represent when you create an account that you do not reside there. We rely on that representation. If you reside in one of those territories and have an account, write to [email protected] and we will delete it and the data associated with it within 30 days.

Mexico: Las Joyas de la Familia, S.A. de C.V., with its address at Calle Colombia 2, Mz. 21 Lt. 5, Supermanzana 57, 77533 Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is the party responsible for your personal data (“responsable”) under the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition (ARCO rights), revoke your consent, or limit the use or disclosure of your data by writing to [email protected]. We will answer within the period set by that law.

Brazil: Where the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) applies, we process personal data on the basis of the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and, where required, your consent. You may confirm that we process your data, access it, correct it, ask for its anonymization, blocking, or deletion, ask for its portability, be informed of the parties we share it with, and withdraw consent, by writing to the person in charge of data protection at [email protected].

United States: We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Depending on the state where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
