Meta groups it in five. Story tools: Story Spotlight pushes a story to the top of feeds, Story Extend keeps it up another 24 hours. Reactions: Story Super Hearts. Audience control: unlimited custom lists for who sees what. Viewer insights: a rewatch count, and a search box to check whether one specific person saw your story. And personalisation: custom app icons, bio fonts, extra profile pins. It is also bundled into Meta One alongside WhatsApp, Facebook and Meta AI.

Meta files it under privacy: Story Preview lets you peek at someone’s story without appearing in their viewer list. It is worth saying plainly, because a lot of articles still treat watching a story without being listed as something shady. It is now a feature Instagram charges for.
How much Instagram Plus costs
$3.99 a month in most countries. Meta doesn’t put the number on its own page — it shows in the app, under your profile — and both the price and whether it is offered at all depend on where you are.
What it doesn’t do
Three things, and they are the reasons people look for something else. It works through your own Instagram account, so it only reaches stories that account can already open. It saves nothing: Story Extend keeps your own story up longer, it doesn’t keep anyone else’s, and a story you didn’t open is gone in 24 hours. And it never tells you when someone posts — you still have to open the app and look.
