How to know if someone
blocked you on Instagram.
Short answer
Instagram doesn’t notify you when someone blocks you, and there is no list of who did. The reliable test is to look at the profile from somewhere that isn’t your account: a logged-out browser, a second account, or a web tool that reads public profiles. If the profile exists there and is missing from your app, you were blocked. If it is missing everywhere, the account was deactivated, deleted, or renamed.

What you see when you are blocked
The person disappears from your search results. If you reach their profile through an old link or a tag, it says “User not found” or shows the header with no posts. Their likes and comments vanish from your posts, and your old conversation stays in your messages, but anything you send is never delivered. None of these alone proves a block: every one also happens when an account is deactivated.
The test that settles it
Open a private browser window, without logging in, and go to instagram.com followed by the username. Or ask a friend to search for the account. Or type the username into a tool that reads public profiles from outside, such as LikePatrol.
Visible from outside and invisible from your account means blocked. Invisible from everywhere means the account is gone for everyone: deactivated, deleted, banned, or renamed.
Blocked, or did they change their username?
A renamed account also stops answering to the old username, from everywhere. If you share a group chat or follow someone in common, look for the person there: a new username shows up with the same picture and posts. A block hides them from you there too.
Blocked is not the same as restricted or removed
If someone restricted you, you still see their profile and posts; your comments are hidden from others and your messages go to requests. If someone removed you as a follower, their profile is there and the button says “Follow”. Only a block makes the profile disappear.
What you can’t find out
A list of everyone who has blocked you doesn’t exist, inside Instagram or outside it. Apps that promise one are collecting logins. You can only check one account at a time, with the test above.
